When preparing for a photoshoot, our clients often ask us to recommend beaches near Lisbon where they can get beautiful content. So we have created our own ranking of the best beaches for photoshoots. All of them are located within a maximum of 1 hour by car or taxi from Lisbon. Our ranking is entirely different from the classic rankings of famous beaches in Portugal for holidays and vacations. We have chosen all these places from a professional point of view for the most beautiful photos and videos, exclusive, stylish, and inspiring content we make for our clients.

#1 Praia das Amoeiras, Santa Cruz
- our hidden pearl that few people know
- almost no people even during the high season in summer
- unusual and textured rocks of different colors, from white and yellow to bright red
- long beach view
- beautiful photo spots not only on the beach but also on the cliffs high above the beach
- at low tide, many small rocks appear on the shore, and between them you can get very nice shots
#2 Praia da Santa Cruz
- the beach of the small authentic town where we live
- an unusual rock in the ocean that is considered the symbol of Santa Cruz
- in one place you can combine both beach photos and Portuguese street style
- colorful benches, white railings over the ocean, viewpoints – so many beautiful places to take photos and videos overlooking the ocean
- great location for brand shoots
#3 Praia da Arriba, Cascais
- the closest beautiful beach near Lisbon, affordable to get here by taxi
- not many people, always room for a photoshoot
- beautiful textured multicolored rocks – light, yellow, and even black.
- Interesting view pictures not only from the beach but also from above.
- the most famous beach of Cascais, Praia do Guincho, is within walking distance to this beach.
- near the beach, there is a big restaurant with a swimming pool, the Arriba Club, which can be rented for shootings (e.g. we shot a campaign for SHEIN there)
#4 Praia da Adraga, Sintra
- located not far from Lisbon
- unusual rocks and pebbles in the water
- many different textures and colors
- beautiful sunsets, which is why people come to this beach
- clean sand, which allows you to take perfect pictures, even for product photography
- quite crowded during the summer season
- there are nudists on the beach, if someone is worried about it 🙂
#5 Praia da Almagreira, Peniche
- another one of our hidden gems that not many people know about.
- almost no people on the beach
- fantastically beautiful textured rocks – yellow, grey, red
- very long beach view
- slight slope, at low tide you can take mirror photos of your reflection in the water
- beautiful viewpoints not only on the beach, but also above it
- ideal place for drone videos
- be careful at high tide, the beach is flooded
- the beach is quite far from Lisbon
#6 Praia da Ursa, Sintra
- popular and advertised beach
- unusual rocks, in the water too
- nice view photos from above
- you have to come at low tide to shoot near the rocks in the water
- to get down, you have to be prepared for a 20-minute hike up steep slopes
- there are a lot of people in season, it is not easy to find a free spot
- peak time for photography is at sunset
#7 Praia do Portinho da Arrábida
- a beautiful postcard beach with clear, bright blue water surrounded by natural forest
- located at 90 degrees to the open ocean, the water is usually calm and shallow. Which is almost never the case at major ocean beaches
- the sun sets early behind the high mountain, depending on the time of year, by 4-6 pm the whole place is already in the shade
- in the summer there are a lot of people and few parking spaces
- in summer, the local authorities close the roads from Setubal, so you can’t get there by car
- few rocks and textures, lots of green
#8 Praia da Lagoa de Albufeira-Mar (Google Maps link) and #9 Bom Sucesso Beach, Lagoa de Obidos (Google Maps link)
- two beaches on opposite sides of Lisbon (south and north), but very similar in essence – two lagoons of white sand and warm, clear water that flow directly into the ocean
- there is a classic ocean beach with big waves and quiet backwaters
- in the backwaters you can take pictures lying or sitting in the water, which is difficult to do on open ocean
- in summer there are quite a lot of visitors
- Bom Sucesso Beach is the farthest beach from Lisbon in our ranking
